Procedures for Making Inquiries or Requesting Service

Customers may inquire about price and availability or make requests for service by calling Avista Corp’s merchant function at (509) 495-8534. The price and availability of service are subject to up-to-the-minute changes in capacity and load, so please call Avista Corp’s merchant function to inquire about current price and availability.
When making a request for service, please provide the following information:
Name of the party requesting service
Service(s) requested (including the tariff under which service is requested)
Requested dates of service
Requested duration of service
Amount of service requested
Requested price of service
Requests for Dynamic Capacity and Energy Service, Spinning Reserve Service, and Supplemental Reserve Service under Avista Corp’s FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 9 will be posted promptly on these pages after the requests have been granted or denied. To see a list of previous requests for service, please click here.
Requests for service under Avista Corp’s FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 10 will not be posted.
While customers may specifically request service under either Avista Corp's FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 9 or Avista Corp's FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 10, unless a customer designates a specific tariff, Avista Corp generally assumes that customers are requesting service under Avista Corp's FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 10. Under certain conditions, however, off-system ancillary services may only be available under Avista Corp's FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 9, in which case the customer will be so notified.
Eligible Customers
To be eligible to receive service, customers must execute a service agreement with Avista Corp under Avista Corp’s FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 9 (Exhibit B) (to be eligible for service at market-based rates) or under Avista Corp’s FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 10 (to be eligible for service at “up to” cost-based rates). The ancillary services described on these pages are provided by Avista Corp’s merchant function. The ancillary services are not available in conjunction with transmission service under Avista Corp’s open access transmission tariff.
In addition, services provided under Avista Corp’s FERC Electric Tariff Volume No. 9 may not be purchased by a transmission provider for use in satisfying the transmission provider’s ancillary service obligations under its own open access transmission tariff.
